•   FUNDING PUBLIC EDUCATION

I will continue to fight for money to fully fund our public schools up to the national average and beyond, giving parents true choice in education. The 5.5 million students in Texas are our future and it is time that we fully invest in them and it. 

• WOMEN'S RIGHTS 

We have no right to tell a woman what to do with her body. That choice should be between her, her doctor, and her God. Politics has no place in the exam room. The maternal mortality rate rose 56% from 2019 to 2022 and is still rising. A woman should not have to leave this great state to seek healthcare! 

• AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE

​More reasonable & affordable choices for healthcare! Texas has the highest uninsured population in the nation due

to continued rejection of Medicaid expansion. Many of our rural hospitals and clinics depend on Medicaid to stay open in the communities they serve. We must regulate the insurance industry to reign in premiums and out of pocket costs and expand Medicaid for those who cannot get insurance through their place of work.

We need to expand Medicaid and eliminate tax breaks on companies with 100+ employees that don't provide a living wage or benefits. Employees of large companies should not have to rely on SNAP and Medicaid when they are working full time. 

• PROTECTING VETERAN BENEFITS​

Actions speak louder than words​, we must honor our Veterans and the sacrifices they have made for this country. State mandates such as the 100% Disabled Veteran property tax exemption needs to be fully funded by the state, and not passed to local communities fund. 

• PROTECTING OUR WATER SUPPLY

 As Texas grows, so does the need to ensure that our water supply is safe and sustainable. We must do more now to protect this precious resource from corporate pollution and diversion away from communities and farms that need it. ​
